HB1267 MUCH Worse Than Thought!

HB1267 is MUCH worse than first believed! A provision was added before leaving house committee to allow the state to regulate ANY food produced for human consumption including YOUR GARDEN, EGGS from backyard chickens, animals you raise and slaughter for your OWN use, ANY FOOD intended for human consumption, as long as it’s not already regulated by another program!

Part (a) is about food establishments (restaurants, hotels & places that are typically already inspected by a state health inspector) and sales therein of meat, poultry and game.

Part (b) allows the state to regulate any food for human consumption!  These rules may include requirements for registration, inspection, processing, handling and so forth.
