Making all of this delicious, rich broth was very simple. We simply took the bones that had been cleaned of meat and put them in a crockpot and covered it with water, brought it to a boil and then simmered it on low for about 24 hours. We don’t put anything in it until we use it, but you can add vegetables and salt to taste if you like. You can keep it in the fridge for upto a couple of weeks if you plan to use it in soups and recipes soon. Or, you can freeze it or preserve it through canning for storage in the cupboard. We use it as a base for soups, stews and sauces.
