Non-GMO Layer Feed with Organic Kelp Creates Happy Chickens that Lay Delicious and Nutritious Eggs<\/p><\/div>\n

Maple Valley Farm on W Maple Grove Rd. in Bloomington, uses a non-GMO layer hen feed that we store in 50 lb. bags. A\u00a0farmer we know grows and mixes our feed\u00a0that includes non-GMO soybeans, corn and oats. We add organic kelp, sustainably harvested fish meal, minerals and vitamins. What’s\u00a0special about our chicken feed?<\/h4>\n

What IS in it:<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Full fat, whole, ROASTED soy beans.<\/li>\n
  2. Organic kelp meal with a full slate of trace minerals<\/li>\n
  3. “National Organic Program” approved\u00a0Fertrell mineral and vitamins<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  4. A small amount (about 3.5%) of sustainably harvested fishmeal to provide the critical amino acid methionine.<\/li>\n
  5. Natural vitamin E as a preservative.<\/li>\n
  6. Grains from a farmer we know. We know exactly where our feed is grown and who grows it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    What is NOT in it:<\/h4>\n
      \n
    1. Our feed has no genetically modified ingredients. NO GMO.<\/li>\n
    2. NO\u00a0ethoxyquin<\/a>, a toxic pesticide commonly\u00a0added to animal feeds as a preservative.<\/li>\n
    3. NO soy trypsin inhibitors or other anti-nutrients.\u00a0Roasting the whole bean eliminates\u00a0phytotoxins\u00a0in the skin of the bean while preserving the valuable nutrients and fats inside.<\/li>\n
    4. NO soy oil.\u00a0 We use the whole fat bean so we don’t have to add highly processed soy oil back into the mix.<\/li>\n
    5. NO traces of the\u00a0hexane chemicals\u00a0used to extract oil<\/a>\u00a0from the beans (beans are full-fat and contain all the natural oils.)<\/li>\n
